Warren Moon
*On this date in 2006, the first Black quarterback was inducted into the National Football league Hall of Fame.
Warren Moon, the former University of Washington quarterback, was the recipient. He played professionally for the Canadian Football League's Edmonton Eskimos and the National Football League's Houston Oilers, Minnesota Vikings, Seattle Seahawks, and Kansas City Chiefs. That day, Moon joined Reggie White, Harry Carson, John Madden, and Rayfield Wright in entering the NFL’s Hall.
He said, "To be the first African American quarterback into the Hall of Fame, all African American QBs who played before me should share in this". "I don't want to make this a racial thing, but I think it is significant. It shows that we have arrived at the pinnacle of our sport.”
