Charlene Drew Jarvis

From Washington, D.C., Charlene Rosella Drew) is the daughter of Charles Drew and the sister of Sylvia Drew Ivie. Jarvis earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Oberlin College in 1962, a Master of Science degree in psychology from Howard University in 1964, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in neuropsychology from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 1971.
From 1978 to 1996, Jarvis was Ward 4's representative to the Council of the District of Columbia. Jarvis sought reelection again in 2000, but she was defeated in the Democratic primary by Adrian Fenty.
Because of her father's plasma antibody discoveries, Drew remains proud because science endures. COVID patients could benefit from Dr. Drew's research in the 1940s to identify antibodies for the treatment of COVID-19.
