*On this date in 2018, the Legacy Museum from Enslavement to Incarceration opened. The Museum is an African American history museum that covers broad themes from slavery to present-day police violence. Housed in a building that once housed slaves, the Museum hosts hundreds of exhibits dedicated to the domestic slave trade practiced in the United States of America.

Visitors can browse through historical artifacts and sculptures, watch videos and interactive media related to the slave trade, and view other exhibits on contemporary issues, such as unfair punishments for convicts and mass black incarceration.
